A long time ago, Hilo was just a little sugarcane town. There wasn’t much to do for the young; so many left the Island. Our dad, Uncle Billy, wanted to build something to give his children a bright future. He decided to construct the Hilo Bay Hotel with his own hands in 1963. This vision grew into purchasing a hotel in Kona in 1978. Moving to Kona permanently has led to our family to operating a 125 room affordable hotel in Kailua-Kona that stands to this very day.
In addition to Kona Bay Hotel, our dad purchased the Kona Inn Shopping Village across the street as well as our 16 unit Ohana wing which is located on the ocean.
We are so proud to this day that our ever growing Ohana (family) of many relatives and friends all work together to preserve the “aloha spirit” of Hawaii forever. Mom, (Leilani) has since passed on but her memory remains as a powerful testament to hard work and family values. Dad joined Mom in 2016, and his family carries on his legacy to this very day.
